Our Reef

We are located on the only UNESCO World Heritage reef in Vanuatu and here at M Resort & Spa we make reef conservation one of our top priorities. So that we can continue to enjoy our beautiful reef for years to come we ask everyone that comes to stay with us to do their bit to help us out.

Reef safe sunscreen is one of the easiest ways you can continue to protect our reef. Many sunscreens have chemicals in them, that in large amounts, may affect our coral. Before packing yours into the suitcase just do a double check to ensure it is reef and ocean safe.

Coral is very fragile and can take years to re-grown so it is important that we admire it from a distance and don’t touch it with our hands or feet. We do have lifejackets and pool noodles available for use for anyone who feels they might need some extra support whilst snorkelling.

Whilst snorkelling you are likely to encounter some beautiful wildlife including turtles, rays, octopus and if your really lucky dugongs and dolphins. For that reason it is important that we do our bit to ensure no plastics or rubbish end up in the water – this includes bandaids and bandages.
